The primary mission of Vernon Tourism in BC is to protect and promote Vernon’s position as one of North America’s premier holidays, Support the destination development program, and to advocate the proper growth of Vernon tourism. 

Vision 

The central vision of Vernon Tourism BC: Be the most creative and profitable destination marketing agency in Thompson Okanagan in encouraging their target audiences to visit our destination. 

The Strategic Goal of Vernon Tourism 

The main strategic goal is to attract more traveler’s from and around the world. They aim to raise the $1.73 billion annual tourism industry in the region by 5% over the next decade. Also, to try and boost the number of traveler’s who visit to travel to this region.

  • Authentic Experiencers 

The main strategy: 

  • Enhance Thomson Okanagan Tourism Association (TOTA, Destination Bc )involvement and boost Vernon’s marketing activities by destination Canada. 
  • Encourage and allow the industry to create new outstanding products and experiences that benefit the industry. 
  • Keep on improving the concept of visitors’ facilities. 
  • Lead the ongoing performance indicators, study and intelligence gathering, interpretation and sharing. 
  • Ensure ongoing Tourism plan. 
  • Increase the emphasis on promoting new and improved activities and festivals. 
  • Work with the destination in the primary travel corridors in the Thompson Okanagan in Partnership.
  • Utilize current and new strategic partnership programs with local Vernon stakeholders in marketing. 

 

Vernon’s COVID 19 Strategy  

The top priority of Vernon’s city is the safety of their citizen, visitors, and employees. To protect them, they implemented several new measures to maintain their services and provide a healthy and safe work environment for employees. In North Okanagan, the Internal Health Authority (IHA) the lead agency responding to the Covid 19 virus’s community effects. Encourage everyone living in Vernon to follow protocols and guidelines to reduce the spread of the virus.  

Travel Information: The BC centre for diseases control says that British Columbians should restrict their travel only when appropriate and avoid travelling to other regions if necessary. The Vernon Tourism Office recommends that hotel operators should be consulted separately for their health and safety policies.
